Happy Endings!

Another happy ending!
Duck joined the A4P family at the beginning of the year. He travelled to us from Manitoba after an unfortunate meeting with a porcupine left him with many quills in his face. Duck underwent more than one procedure to remove quills that had migrated to the surface of his skin.
We recieved dozens of applications for this precious boy. There were so many amazing applicants but Duck let us know right away that he chose Caroline as his person.
As always thank you for opening your heart and home to a Magical Unicorn in need. Welcome to the A4P family and congrats again to you both!

Big news! Mr Italy has found his home sweet home!
Italy's litter mate Tuxedo was adopted last year by Brandi & Russell and now this year we have finalized the adoption of Italy to Brandi's parents!
Congratulations to Italy & his new family! We are very excited to see the shenanigans you & Tuxedo will get into.

Another Magical Unicorn has found their forever home!
Bruce began his journey in a high kill shelter in Montreal. In less than 2 years of age he found himself abandoned in the shelter 4 times 😢. Bruce arrived to the A4P family earlier this year and our adoptions coordinator Brittany, and her husband, had the pleasure of being his foster parents. He quickly won over their hearts as well as their dog Max and all of us at A4P. We are so beyond thrilled to announce his adoption!
Many people who are familiar with Bull Terriers know that they are notorious for having allergies which & this is what made Bruce one of our "Magical Unicorns". Our Magical Unicorns are the pups who need a little more help, or special attention, for various medical conditions varying from allergies to paralysis as well as vision or hearing impairment (Like Bruce's buddies Linken and Eevee)
Bruce did not have the best start at life but now is the spoiled baby of the household
and we could not be happier for him! His new mama Fiona even took an entire week off work to integrate him in the new home! Talk about lucky boy right!? Bruce also has a new Bull terrier sister named Bonnie who already adores him.
Hats off to Fiona and Shane! We thank you so much for opening both your hearts and home to this wonderful boy! Welcome to the Aide For Paws family💕
Keep him outta trouble Bonnie 😉

We have another happy ending to announce!
Another one of our surprise litter of puppies has found his forever home! Our little Chewbacca Tuxedo has finally has found his forever family! He has 2 new kitty siblings and is lucky enough to join both mom & dad at work.
Just look at those smiles!!!! 😁 Congrats little Tux we are so happy for you!💕
Some exciting news to announce . . . Sir Kingsley Buttersworth has been adopted!!! The A4P family welcomed Sir Kingsley (aka - Kingaroo, King & The King 🤣), with open arms this past November. This ginormous puppy had already topped the scales at almost 115 pounds at 10 months old! When King arrived he was a very timid boy and very much unsure of the outside world - so much in fact that even a For Sale sign terrified him. He stole the hearts of the entire A4P family and quickly became BFFs with Linken Bark. With the perfect combination of love, consistency and patience King has blossomed into the amazing boy we knew he could be. Thank you so much to Catherine and Terry for opening your hearts and home to this giant, yet dainty, boy. Also special thanks to King's new 4-legged sister Storm for showing him the ropes and posing for so many fantastic photos 😉 Love you lots big guy we are so happy for you all 💕 |
Houston - we have a foster fail! I repeat . . . we have a foster fail! What started off as an act of kindness, opening her home to a foster animal in need, has resulted in another happy ending. Little Bear stole the hearts of many and judging by the smile on his face he is in love with his new mom just as much as she is with him. Big congrats to both of you 💕 |
GOOBER HAS LEFT THE BUILDING!!!!! Fantastic news for the Goobz! Our favourite big goofy puppy has been adopted! For those of you who had the pleasure of meeting Goober you probably know he was madly in love and BFFS with Great Dane foster brothers, Sir Kingsley & Linken Bark. Look who found his very own Dane brother!!! We are all so very happy for Goober and his new family. Congrats you guys & thank you for opening your heart & home to this big lovemuffin |
Amber our sweet senior regal Beagle has found her forever home!!! This amazing little miss stole the hearts of many. In her previous life Amber was used for breeding and was surrendered at 11 years old with a handful of medical problems. She was such a little trooper and underwent surgery for a long overdue spay, dental cleaning w/ multiple tooth extractions, mammary tumor removals and also had several other old lady lumps and bumps removed. It never ceases to amaze us how resilient dogs can be. Amber recovered from her surgery like a champ and never stopped wagging her tail the entire time. Huge congrats and thank you so much again for opening your hearts and home to a senior rescue dog in need. |

Cyprus has been officially adopted!
Cyprus came into our care last year & is another one of our special needs furkids. This little deaf kitty quickly stole the hearts of his new family. He has a new twin sister, who is also deaf, as well as 2 new doggy brothers too!
Congrats again to the whole family & thank you for opening your home & hearts to a special needs cat!
We have some very exciting news . . . Dexter has been adopted! He has found the most amazing retirement home on Vancouver Island and we could not be happier for him!!! For those who don't remember Dexter, he is our senior special needs senior Bull Terrier that was transferred into our care from a local branch of the SPCA in June. Thanks to the help of all of our amazing supporters we raised enough money to cover the cost of surgery to remove the large tumor from his leg, have major dental work performed, a long overdue neuter as well as medications needed for his allergies and his eye. With a lot of extra love and TLC Dexter made a complete recovery from his surgery. He is now able to see out of his blind eye and his skin is soooooo much better than it was when he arrived (his fur even started re-growing in the bald patches on his nose & feet!) Congratulations and thank you so much to the Wootton Family for opening your hearts and homes to this special needs senior guy. He holds a very special place in my heart and I cannot be happier for him. Dexter has since formed a special bond with their teenage son and has stolen the hearts of many. In true Bull Terrier fashion Dexter hasn't been able to hold still for a family photo so we thought we would share a collage of photos with each of his new family members. We can't wait to come visit you all again soon. Love you so much Dexter! |

Happy news for Magnolia - she has been adopted!
Maggie was transferred into our care from a shelter in Montreal. She was picked up as a stray
and unfortunately no one came to claim her. Sweet Magnolia is one of our special needs dogs (she has allergies & a heart murmur)
We could not ask for a better home for our girl. Thank you so much to Janet, Dave & their boy Nova for loving her as much as we do.
Congrats again!

So incredibly happy to announce that our sweet little Roadie boy has been officially adopted! It was definitely love at first sight and honestly we can't tell if he loves his family more or his new family loves him more. He has brought his mom & dad so much joy as well as their adult children. We couldn't be happier to have been able to bring them together.
Roadie's new name is Brody & he is definitely the apple of their eyes. Thank you so much for opening your loving hearts & home to Brody. We wish you all the best & cannot wait until he has recoveredfrom his neuter so we can have puppy play dates together at the park :)
Love you lots little dude!

Remember Jersey? This beautiful boy came into our program in January 2017 from a pretty rough
start at life. In his less than 2 years of age Jersey had already been passed around between 4
different homes & had a past history of abuse. While he was in foster Jersey sure gave us a scare!
He ended up having a pretty significant allergic reaction (our vet suspects due to a spider bite) and needed to be hospitalized for several days. Thankfully he made a full recovery!
His foster family immediately fell in love with him & so happy to say that he became a foster fail a couple of months later! Jersey is in a home with 2 little people to love him to bits. His favorite
pastimes still include cuddling shoes & other clothing items, laying in the sun & playing with his toys
Congratulations again Jersey we are so happy for you!
